Something wants to come through the crack...

Askance Glance part 3

Previously in Askance Glance:
(BGM: Freshly Squeezed - Angelo Badalamenti)

Jake moved into a rather nice ground floor flat only to discover that there's a crack the size of San Andreas in the bathroom. Drag queens of human kindness Roy and Cleve live on top but it's Clarissa, the little girl on the middle floor who seems to know the secrets of the crack and what lies beyond...

Oh, the humanity...

Thanks to Cameron Stewart for pointing me towards blambot, where the new handlettered-style font comes from. Buy his amazing trade paperback with Grant Morrison, Seaguy now (Amazon UK :: Amazon US) to ensure DC recommission this excellent series!

Askance Glance part 2

Previously in Askance Glance: (this bit's good if you imagine the theme from Soap playing in the background. Or better still, Minder...)
Jake moved into a rather nice ground floor flat only to discover that there's a crack the size of San Andreas in the bathroom. Oh shit. On the top floor lives Cleve, a drag queen who makes him coffee and comfortable. The little girl on the middle floor is called Clarissa. Does she have any secrets? And why exactly does the Man in the Moon have designs on our howling protagonist?

Weird? We haven't even got started yet...

WARNING: Page 3 of this chapter contains some bizarre (though rather comical) sexual imagery. It's completely gratuitous and the plot works completely fine without it so you may want to skip page 3 altogether! Wahey!

Askance Glance part 1

I originally presented part one of this comic strip in a previous version of my site. As I explained in an earlier post, I have an aversion to finishing things and this means that no further episodes of this five part story were ever seen.

In a sad and George Lucas-like effort of folly, this new presentation of episode 1 has been digitally renovated, with changes to artwork, new colouring and lettering and some changes to dialogue.

Coming soon, the all new episode 2.
